Apologia

I am not a journalist, for which I and my mother both give thanks as our first waking act every day, although possibly for different reasons.  I therefore make no pretension to journalism, and unilaterally exempt myself from the ’standards’ that many of those who do call themselves journalists acknowledge only in passing. That said, I do intend to tell the truth as I see it.

The truth is, what you will find here is opinion, liberally scattered with facts that have been as thoroughly checked as is reasonable for one person working alone and mostly at night (because, of course, I have a ‘day’ job)… It is intended to be topical, stimulating and occasionally amusing, and is aimed at an audience of mostly educated, mostly English-speaking people with an interest of one form or another in transforming business processes (for the better, that is).

It is written from the perspective of one who is American by choice rather than birth.  Native speakers of all forms of English will find occasional linguistic dislocations that are an inevitable by-product of transferring allegiances between two nations divided by a common language. You should assume all apparent errors are intentional, as that will save us all a lot of time.
